| Week-long Celebration for The Library "At 17" |
To mark the 17th anniversary of The Library, Andrew de Real is throwing a party lasting a whole week. De Real has lined-up a series of events that starts on June 17 with the semi-autobiographical play "Room 69" which Andrew wrote and directed, and in which he also co-stars with aspiring actor Danny Ramos. The celebration, titled "At 17," continues all the way to June 23 with special shows featuring some of The Library's most-popular stand-up comedy talents. Performing on June 18 will be Phillip Lazaro in his own show entitled "Philliplander" (inspired by recent comedy flick "Zoolander"). He will be followed on June 19 by "Power of Three," featuring the triumvirate of Rey Kilay, Poca, and Martin Mijares . June 20 will be a special night because it's the homecoming of one of The Library's favourite alumni Allan K. Now a popular actor and a regular on "Eat bulaga", Allan will star in "Nose Attack". On June 21 and June 22, Andrew throws the spotlight on The Library's junior entertainers, talents that he has trained and whom he hopes will follow in the footsteps of Allan K., Arnel Ignacio, Ai Ai de las Alas, Phillip Lazaro and other famous Library alumni. On June 23, the week-long celebration will be capped by the giving of the Golden Book Award (the venue is, after all, a "library") to The Library's "Entertainer of the Year." The awardee is chosen through a vote by The Library staff, entertainers and regular customers. Among the previous recipients of the Golden Book Award are Arnel, Ai Ai, Allan K. and Phillip.
