Comic Lab (The Library's Twin Sister)
(Press release written by Pilar Mateo)

In this time and age, the old cliché still holds true! "Laughter is the best medicine!". Might be the reason why, sing-along bars are believed to stay for a longer while.

The Library sing-along bar on M. Adriatico Street in Malate has, so to speak, withstood the test of time. For 16 solid years, it has continued to give its audience the kind of entertainment that it can be truly proud of.

That is where names like Allan K., Leonard Obal, Phillip Lazaro, Martin Mijares, Arnell Tamayo, Hans Mortel, La Bacci, Joyce Yadao and a lot more have shone on their own merits. Add to that the new crop of sing-along masters like Al Arayata, Vice, Anton, Poca, Kim, Pooh, Teri and a lotmore that are the new crowd drawers in the other sing-along bars where they have their sats, with The Library's permission of course!

Must be the reason why owner Andrew deReal has finally decided to come up with a new version of The Library, COMIC LAB, on Jorge Bocobo street, just a stone's throw away from the 'noisiest library' in that side of Malate.

Host and writer Boy Abunda once said that Malate will not be the same without The Library. And with the blessing and inauguration of its 'twin sister' COMIC LAB where diva Ai-Ai delas Alas and 'pambansang ilong ng Pilipinas' Allan K. were the 'fairy godmothers', Andrew knew that COMIC LAB will be another 'hit' among the regular habitues of the sing-along circuit.

Andrew's stable of talents continue to grow by the day. As more and more hopefuls are trying their luck to be part of The Library family. And where, the newest members of the crop are being honed by being assigned to the rest of the sing-along bars that The Library is supporting.

It's been reported that some financiers from the US of A visited The Library to get a franchise of the sing-along bar that would soon be introduced to the audience in Uncle Sam's soil. And where the regular hosts of The Library will have chance to share their talent with our 'kababayans' as well as the foreign audience they cater to there. And maybe, another COMIC LAB abroad!

Watch out for the newest and the brightest of these sing-along masters/hosts as they continue to share their God-given talents to those tired and wearied souls ordinarily seeking for the best medicine there is at this time and age - laughter!

Visit COMIC LAB from Monday to Saturday. Who says that you won't be accommodated? maybe, in some instances at The Library yes, you will have to wait for a long while to get a table. But there's always COMIC LAB now where you will find the sing-along masters that you always find at The Library.

If The Library has been your 'second home' for all these 16 years, COMIC LAB will be the next best thing to become your haven as you while those nights away...
